We were previously commissioned to design a show apartment by Greystar for their Bloom West development in Nine Elms, London, following the installation of furniture within a large proportion of the build to rent apartments. The aim was to design a studio show apartment that would appeal to a young individual or couple who lived and worked in London and would show an example of how the furniture collections at Bloom could be styled, bringing it to life.
Taking inspiration from the vibrant style of the 1970s and 80s, we blended retro fashion influences with modern interior design sensibilities. The result is a space where colourful textiles, expressive artwork, and statement pieces nod to retro aesthetics without overpowering the apartment’s clean, contemporary feel.
Working closely with Greystar’s in-house design team, we opted for a bold ochre feature wall to bring warmth and depth, perfectly complementing the textured finishes in the furniture. Playful artwork and characterful décor ensure that every corner tells its own story, while the addition of lush, live plants infuses the apartment with freshness and personality. The finished design not only makes a memorable first impression - it demonstrates how a compact city home can be both stylish and full of character.
